Most nights begin on the West End cliffs, where [Rick's Café](https://rickscafejamaica.com/) draws a crowd for sunset, live reggae and cliff divers. Open from noon to 10pm, it works as the start of the night rather than the end. From [Charela Inn](https://www.charelainn.com/), Rick's is about five miles away, roughly 15 to 20 minutes by car with no traffic, along Norman Manley Boulevard and West End Road. For music at sunset, [Drifters Bar](https://www.afar.com/places/drifters-bar) is a local favorite, a beachfront bar opened in 2011 by Luddy Samms, a former member of the vocal group The Drifters. Its jam sessions mix old-time reggae with rhythm and blues, and visitors can sit in or take the mic. Drifters is about 0.6 miles south of Charela Inn, a 10- to 15-minute walk along the sand or a few minutes by taxi. Sessions run from afternoon into early evening, on days that change with the season. After dark, the beach bars just south of Charela Inn take over. Woodstock, a short walk along the sand, is a classic beachfront spot for nighttime reggae shows, with acts that rotate through the week. Shows usually start late, around 10pm, so check the posters or ask at the Charela Inn front desk.
