FAQ

Charela Inn sits directly on Negril's Seven Mile Beach, on Norman Manley Boulevard in Negril, Jamaica. The property is set back more than 150 ft from the water, shaded by coconut trees, with the beach just steps from every room.

Charela Inn has been owned and run by the Grizzle family since 1980, when Sylvie and Daniel Grizzle bought what was then a ten-room inn. It is still a family business - Jamaican and French, which is why Le Vendôme serves both cuisines. Many of our staff have been with us for more than fifteen years, and much of what the kitchen serves comes from the family's own farm. For more detail, visit our History page.

Charela Inn is a family-run beachfront hotel rather than an all-inclusive resort. Rooms are booked on a room-only basis with no resort fee, so you're free to eat at Le Vendôme, our own restaurant, or explore Negril. If you'd prefer dining arranged, breakfast, half board, full board and all-inclusive plans can all be added when you book.

Yes. Our public areas are designed to accommodate guests with mobility needs, and we have three dedicated ground-floor accessible rooms. Let us know your requirements when booking and we'll make sure the right room is held for you.

Charela Inn has 59 rooms. As a small, family-owned beachfront hotel, we took over Charela Inn in 1980 as a ten-room inn and have grown carefully since, adding sea view rooms, garden rooms, suites and family units over four decades.

We have five room types. Sea View rooms face the Caribbean with a balcony or patio, for two. Sea View Deluxe adds a Jacuzzi and direct beach access, for two. Sea View Junior Suites sleep three, with a Jacuzzi for two and a sitting area. Garden View rooms overlook the courtyard and pool and sleep three - three of them are wheelchair-accessible. Family Units are two interconnecting rooms sleeping four. All have free Wi-Fi, pool access, and a private balcony or patio.
